There are two main systems for CUTTING the mouldings:

- by CUTTING with FIXED BLADES;

- by MITRING with ROTATING TOOTHED BLADES.

By examining these two cutting systems, it will be easier to find out the most suitable machine for your own needs.

CUTTING with FIXED BLADES:

It's the GUILLOTINE CHOPPER system. All Guillotine Choppers are mechanically the same, the only thing that may change is that the blades' descent may be foot-operated, pneumatic or hydraulic. The main characteristics of Guillotine Chopper is that it doesn't produce any noise or dust and, the foot-operated model, doesn't require any electrical feeding. Moreover the two 90° fixed blades can execute two double cuts at 45° at one time. Very easy to use, safe and fast, this machine is the perfect choice for cutting small-medium sized profiles, while it's not totally suitable for cutting wide or very shaped mouldings. The cut has always a high quality standard.

MITRING with ROTATING TOOTHED BLADES:

It's the system adopted by all SINGLE BLADE or DOUBLE BLADES MITRE SAWS, electric machines with one or more fixed or movable blades. These machines are suitable for cutting any kind of mouldings, especially shaped and breakable mouldings, and for medium-big sized profiles. Negative characteristics are: dust production (that can be reduced by using dust extraction unit), noise and the danger due to the rotating blade, only psychologic because the machines are equipped with all the required safety protections.

MITRE SAWS are available in different models:

SINGLE BLADE MITRE SAW: one rotating blade machine for cutting at 45° or other angles. The corner of the frame is formed with two cuts, one on the left and one on the right. This is the perfect machine for the framer that needs to cut any kind of mouldings, especially shaped ones.

DOUBLE BLADES VERTICAL MITRE SAW: machine with two blades that can be fixed at 90° or movable for cutting different angles. The blades' descent is vertical and can be manually or pneumatically operated. The pneumatic model is perfect for big serial production and can be equipped with automatic loader and unloader.

DOUBLE BLADES HORIZONTAL MITRE SAW: two-blades machine with alternate horizontal movement, manually or pneumatically operated. This machine is the best choice for cutting big sized mouldings and it's highly appreciated for its easy use, working capacity and safety. All MITRE SAWS can be equipped with ACCESSORIES to limit dust production, to ease and increase accuracy and/or safety.
